What Breed Of Dog Should President Barack Obama Choose

What Breed Of Dog Should President-elect Barack Obama Choose ?

Mr. President and the first family have to honestly ask themselves some hard questions.

1- When was the last time they had a dog ?

2- When was the last time they raised a puppy.

3- Did they have that animal for it’s entire natural life.

4- Realistically, who will care for that dog ? Since Mr. President and the first family, will essentially be working twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, for the next four years. And who knows, possibly the next eight years.

5- What amount of quality time do they think they can spend with a new animal, not the family’s assistants or care takers, the Obama family.

6- How many people do you think will run right out, and buy the same breed the Obama family chooses. Simply because they want to have the same dog as the President ?

7- And how many of those dogs do you think will live out their natural life with the family that chooses them ?

  1. Wow, apparently there is a strong Soft-Coat Wheaten lobby out there.

  2. I am hopeful that the Obama family will consider a Soft-Coated Wheaten as first dog. It is unfortunate that this wonderful breed is found in Shelters, Rescue Groups and other places. I found my first one at a dog-pound with less than 5 minutes to live until being injected. I did not know he was a Wheaten and knew nothing about the breed and was stopped on the street by a Wheaten Show person who was extremely happy I had rescued him. I am on my second Wheaten and never thought I could love a dog breed as I do. Neither one shed, nor was hyper and both had the greatest and kindest personalities. The best thing about a Wheaten besides being non-allergenic is that they are surprising clowns and both of mine loved Irish music! I also think Obama’s personality is very much like a Wheaten’s oddly enough.

  3. There is a reason that some dog breeds have “Terrier” after their name. Can you guess what it is ?

  4. I also think president elect Barack Obama should get a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. It’s not a girly dog and it doesn’t shed.

  5. Like I said before, there are over 90,000 listings for Wheaten terrier rescues on the web, that should tell us, All dogs can and will bite, if we don’t understand them.

  6. I feel certain the perfect dog for the Obama daughters would be A SOFT COATED WHEATEN TERRIER. . These dogs are wonderful is every respect. I have asthma and allergies and this dog really is hypoallergenic. Like any dog, you need to groom and bath them regularly; and brush them. But they do not shed. They have adorable dispositions. LIke any dog, they need to be trained early….but of the terrier breeds they are among the mellowest. These dogs are medium sized, wonderful domestic pets—–and I stress they really are hypoallergenic. Check them out. A rescue pet is a wonderful idea. But they may have been abused physically and/or emotionally and may have unexpected problems —-even after being in your home for a year or two. Also labradoodles and golden\doodles DO SHED AND DO CAUSE ALLERGIC REACTIONS. I have never been around a wheaten terrier that has caused allergic reaction; unless they have not been bathed or groomed for a very long time and are really dirty. The wheaten terrier has a really sweet fun personality, is extremely athletic but is a great house or condo/city dog. I hope these girls get a wheaten…….I have had dogs all my life. Mutts and pedigreeds….Wheatens are the best.
