Is it our fault because we don’t know how to fix something in our life that gives us troubles some times. When our car has troubles we bring it to the car guy, same with our computers same with everything we have. All these things have been in our lives a long time, yet when they don’t work properly we don’t think of ourselves as failures if we cant fix it. So how come we have a tendency to think we have failed as dog owners, when there is an behavior issue we don’t know how to deal with.
If we truly start thinking and remembering, we will come to the conclusion that although we have had dogs around us our whole life. We weren’t the ones responsible for the training of our pets while we were growing up, that was our parents job.

Even then if your thirty years old, how many dogs could you have possibly trained to live in your home, Not that many. The point of this whole thing is, we don’t always have as much experience with dogs , as we think we do. And because we really don’t have as much experience as we think we do, we should never blame ourselves for not understanding how to modify certain dog behaviors.
I’m reminded of this from two recent conversations I’ve had with good dog people, one here on the east coast the other on the west coast. That think, they must have done something wrong. They haven’t
