Dog and Wild Dog Breed comparison, the importance of

Dog bites, and why dogs bite us. we must first understand what a dog is.

I know it’s hard, for a lot of us to even comprehend, that these are the same animals. The need for the comparisons, are self evident. We have been led astray. Not on purpose mind you. But by well meaning individuals, that didn’t have a firm grasp of their subject matter. That along with, “The big bad wolf”, “wolf in sheep’s clothing”, “Goldilocks” and “don’t cry wolf”. Has firmly ingrained in our Psyche, that our dogs, couldn’t possibly be, like the wild dogs, (wolves).

Yet, our domesticated, supposedly no longer wild, sheep’s in sheep’s clothing, dogs. Still manage 4.5 million attacks (dog bites) on humans a year. For those of you keeping track, that’s 12,328 dog attacks a day, ( U.S.). Not to mention the thousands of cats and other smaller critters, hunted and killed on a daily basis, by our dogs. Sounds like an wild animal to me.

By letting our emotional view, dictate logic. We are doing a tremendous disservice to, ( 1 ) Ourselves, and ( 2 ) that new puppy that we are buying. When the inevitable behavior issues pop up, in error we believe a domesticated animal is not suppose to have them. And somebody will most likely get bit, and the dog will probably die. All because we believed something else.

Some wolf "experts" say, wolves will attack dogs. If you say so.

Wolf experts again say, they will eat your cat. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid

When we finally learn, that there is no difference in these dogs. Then we will have taken our first small step, in reducing the number of dogs euthanized in our shelters every year.

Sadly, most if not all in the dog training community (trainers / behaviorists ). Teach us that our dog is no more a wolf, than we are a caveman. Yet dogs and wolves act identically and yes we act like cavemen, that’s why they can’t build jails fast enough.

  1. I have been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.

  2. I am doing a research for a project about dogs, and I found your blog very interesting. Thanks for the info

  3. wolves are a little more agressive, but that is only because they live in the wild. though those pictures of the wolf and cat show that they are honestly mistaken for a lot of stuff, they must fend for themselves, humans are doing nothing but making the dogs more violent than the wolves, they are to blame, not wolves for vicious attitudes
