Salmonella and Dogs

I just read this article from some TV Station about a salmonella link from a dry dog food. I like this , because this goes back to the raw meat diets I had talked about earlier. You can read the article for yourself, it essentially says . Some people got very sick,( Which is sad ) and had to be hospitalized from coming in contact with the dog food.

It also mentions that NO DOGS got sick from eating the tainted dog food. This is important, because salmonella poisoning is one of the arguments that some veterinarians or other animal professionals, use when they tell you that raw meat is not good for your dog.

I am glad that this information came from the CDC, ( Center for Decease Control). Maybe now some of these well meaning professionals, will re-think their position on the subject.

This is the primary reason why we have to cook our raw meats thoroughly, before eating. We are relatively highly susceptible to salmonella poisoning, as apposed to our dogs which have vastly different digestive enzymes than we have. This is why dogs can safely eat raw meats and we cannot.
