This is essentially another little exercise in teaching you how to communicate with and read your dogs body language. Part of learning how to solve any problems your having with your dog, is learning how to speak to him in a way he understands.
When your dog is either sick, depressed or not feeling well. We can make him feel much better and in return, help him to a speedier recovery. It’s all up to you. This is easy you should get it quickly as long as you talk to your dog using your emotions. The last thing you want to do around your dog, if he’s not feeling well. Is console him, or feel sorry for him.
We can console, comfort and feel sorry for a human loved one or friend, if their not feeling well. But you can not do that with your dog. It is very important that you heed this advice. Your dog will follow your emotional lead. If we try consoling a sick or depressed dog we may be doing more harm than good.
It’s important for us to stay happy and excited, when we are talking to a dog that’s not feeling well. If we do it right, we will see a spark of happiness in their eye’s, and the start of some tail wagging. Remember, this is acting. So even though we might not see any positive response, in the first couple of minutes. The show must go on.
If we practice this simple and quick exercise, we will be well on our way to learning how to talk, and understand our dog better. And if he’s not sick or anything like that, we can still practice this, if he’s just lying around or doing nothing, get him to play.
